Lung Cancer, Breathlessness & Appetite Loss: Dorren’s Experience During Chemotherapy

My name is Dorren, and I live in Segamat. During my lung cancer treatment, I experienced several difficult symptoms that affected my daily life.

After my fourth chemotherapy session, I was struggling with severe breathlessness. Even walking just two or three steps could leave me gasping for air. I also experienced intense stomach pain that was so uncomfortable I sometimes found myself rolling on the floor in agony.

At that time, eating was extremely difficult. I could hardly swallow food and was relying mainly on milk to maintain my intake.

On the fifth day after my chemotherapy session, a hydrogen-oxygen gas generator was brought to me. I began using the machine and later learned that I could also use it at night.

As I continued using it, I noticed changes in how I felt. My breathlessness gradually eased, and I felt that my breathing became more comfortable. After around nine days, I also noticed that my stomach pain had eased. I was able to start eating food again, which was a meaningful change for me after struggling to eat for so long.

In the days leading up to my next chemotherapy session, I was grateful to be able to eat again and to feel less of that heavy, uncomfortable sensation in my chest.

Going through cancer treatment has been challenging, and being able to share my experience means a lot to me. I am thankful to those who supported me during this period and helped me explore additional options as part of my personal wellness journey.
